Maintain Your PC Health ! !

Hi , in this post i will show u how to clean up ur unused temp files , web cache and also the Registration Files. It helps u to save disk space and also speed up ur PC in the ways of cleaning Reg files and Helping boot fast.

When i experimented in My PC i was able to clean 512 MB of my unused temp data using Clean up

First the softwares u need are as follows :

  • Disk Cleanup ( Inbuilt in XP )
  • Ccleaner ( for web cache and also reg files )
  • Clean Up ( Cleans )
  • Reg cure (Optional)
  • Disk Defragmenter ( Speeding up )

Disk Cleanup

Disk Cleanup removes unused and temporary files from your system and compresses old files to save disk space.

HOw to :

Go to "Start", "All Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools", and then select
"Disk Cleanup". Under the "Disk Cleanup" tab check all the boxes except; "Compress old files" and "Catalog files for the Content Indexer", then
select "OK" and "Yes" to perform these actions.

Ccleaner Download

CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) removes unused and temporary files from your system, including cleaning the registry.

Go to the "Windows" tab, then select "Run Cleaner". Finally select the "Registry" button and select "Scan for Issues" when it finishes scanning select "Fix Selected Issues", then "Fix All Selected Issues".

Clean Up ( Don't Miss If u like to save disk space ) Download

CleanUp! removes unused and temporary files from your system from all user accounts.

Download and install. Select the "Options" button, uncheck "Delete Prefetch files" and then "OK". Next select the "CleanUp!" button and when it is finished select the "Close" button and then "Yes" to logoff and reboot your system.

When i cleaned in My PC i cleaned around 512 MB ( Since i know basic abt cleaning and clean at intervals)
When I experimented in my friends PC who is a severe player of games i was shocked ( believe or not - It cleaned 5.1 GB of space )
When i checked the files to be deleted all were 100 % unwanted files ...

Additional and optional :

It is beleived that cleaning up reg files at small scale or large help to make ur PC fast also n booting .

Regcure :

I heard a lot of commemts abt this Software and also heard it helps to make PC boot and shut down faster from usual one . If ur system is already perfect then u may not see any changes .

Prefetch AUTOMATIC ( Pl don't delete files )

The Advanced section has a performance slowing cleaning option "Old Prefetch data", never select this option for cleaning as it will increase application and Windows load times. Cleaning the Prefetch folder is a Myth and actually hurts performance. Windows XP automatically cleans this folder at 128 entries back to the 32 most used prefetch files. Anyone who claims this should be cleaned for ANY reason does not understand how Windows Prefetching works. So pl dont try cleaning it.
May be u can once 3-4 months.

Diskeeper - Comparison Chart / $29.95 Home / $49.95 Pro / $99.95 ProPremier / Purchase

Diskeeper is the full, automatic version of the limited built-in "disk defragmenter". Now over seven generations newer, it includes enhanced features that Defragment your computer automatically, faster and more thoroughly. The High Speed Defragmentation Engine runs 300-500% faster than the built-in "disk defragmenter". Real-Time Defragmentation automatically handles fragmentation as it occurs with no drain on system resources. InvisiTasking technology allows Diskeeper to run invisibly, keeping your PC defragmented while you are using it - you will never even know Diskeeper is running. Power Management for laptops prolongs battery life by suspending background defragmentation while on battery power. Diskeeper offers the best performance of all commercial defragmenters. Hard Drives are the slowest component in your PC, do not let Disk Fragmentation slow it down even more.Dont just spend time with windows inbuilt .

If u followed the steps correctly u might have experienced atleast 40 % optimization.
U might not also see any changes if it is already in good condition or u need upgradation .

All the info were Based on my experiences and articles .
