As an initial step, following section explains how to set up your system to be able to read and write in Telugu. It’s a simple two-step process.
First, download the Pothana2000 font (along with Key board manager program) using the following link. It’s a zip file and unzip it to a folder. You will find Pothana2K.exe and run that program. That will install the Pothana2000 font and Keyman (Keyboard manager program for enabling Telugu fonts) on your system.

Next, download the upgrade version of Keyman using the following link.
http://www.tavultesoft.com/keyman/do...omeedition.php
You will be asked to create a free account by providing email address and a password.
After doing so, download the Free Home Edition of the Keyman and install it. This will just upgrade the version 5.0 (which was installed in Step-1) to 6.2 version. You can choose to Start this program when Windows Starts
Next, start the program from Start->All Programs->Tavultesoft Keyman->Keyman (If not already started). You will see an icon in the System Tray when pointed with mouse, will read as Tavultesoft Keyman 6.2
When you left-click on this icon, you will see Telugu as an option to select. When you select this, then your input will be in Telugu font.
To type in Telugu, first open the application like word or browser (like tt.net) and select the Telugu as input. When you start typing, you will see Telugu script on your screen.
That’s it. You are ready to create documents with various applications and also chat with Telugu in TT. Once installed, you can actually read couple of posts on TT.net (Technical/Help Section) posted in Telugu .
If you have more interest, please download additional fonts from the following link and install them. Then you will have variety of Telugu fonts to help you create News Letters etc. This works with most of the Programs like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access etc.
